What: MDP features a series of workshops and experiences that cover a wide range of essential leadership topics. Participants learn about leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, time management, and other key aspects of effective management. Experienced facilitators and experts in the field are conducting these sessions, providing valuable insights and guidance.

Why: Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to network with peers from various County departments, fostering collaboration and the exchange of best practices. MDP serves as a vital resource in developing capable and skilled County managers, further contributing to the County's promise in delivering high-quality public services.

Who: Participants must be in a management position to be eligible. Eligible County employees will receive a targeted mailer each fall inviting their application. Managers who have completed the Essential Supervisory Skills Program (ESS) will have admission priority. Applicants working-out-of-class in a management role will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

When: MDP is a year-long commitment that covers one developmental topic each month. The first session takes place in January and concludes in December.
