Adult Psychiatrist

The County of San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) seeks Board eligible or Board-certified adult psychiatrists to join one of our outpatient clinics at Central County, San Mateo; North County, Daly City; Coastside Clinic, Half Moon Bay; South County, Redwood City; East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center, East Palo Alto; Primary Care Interface; Older Adult System of Integrated Services (OASIS); Puente Team; Public Health Policy & Planning’s (PHPP) Street Medicine Team, to work with adult BHRS clients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. 

Children’s Services Social Worker I/II/III (G090/G091/G092)

Under general supervision, Children's Services Social Workers provide a wide variety of child and family welfare services in such areas as information and referral, case management, protective services, court services, education and employment coordination for children, preventative services, health and mental health coordination and services, and other welfare services within the Human Services Agency.

Children’s Services Social Work Supervisor (G094)

This classification is the full supervisor level of the series. It is distinguished from the Social Work Supervisor classification for having responsibility for children and family welfare service units and cases.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist I/II (F074/F023)

Under general supervision, perform various qualitative and quantitative laboratory examinations on clinical specimens in order to provide data used in the diagnosis and therapeutic management of diseases.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is the journey level class in the medical technologist series with incumbents performing routine and specialized laboratory tests.  This class is flexibly staffed with Clinical Laboratory Scientist II and incumbents are expected to advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating the required proficiency.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist II is the advanced journey level class in the medical technologist series with incumbents independently performing a variety of complex and specialized laboratory tests.

Community Mental Health Nurse-Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (F049AB)

The Community Mental Health Nurse will conduct psychiatric assessments, care coordination, clinical case management services such as rehabilitation, linkage and brokerage, and medication support.  This nurse will coordinate and collaborate with Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), inpatient psychiatric hospitals and other locked placements, primary care providers, specialty providers, and other community resources to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care.

Deputy Medical Director-Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (Open & Promotional) (F142P)

The Deputy Medical Director - Behavioral Health and Recovery Services provides leadership and supervision to several outpatient multidisciplinary teams (including several psychiatrists and other disciplines) and will serve as the Designated Institutional Official with responsibility for all ACGME-accredited programs for San Mateo County.

Deputy Sheriff (H060)

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office employs over six hundred sworn and civilian employees. Deputy Sheriffs facilitate community interaction and utilize collaborative problem-solving techniques; investigate crimes; patrol assigned areas; receive, supervise and transport inmates; act as bailiff or civil deputy; and perform all related duties in law enforcement and crime prevention as may be assigned under general supervision.

Licensed Psychologist - San Mateo Medical Center (F050N)

Under direction, provide professional psychodiagnostic, psychotherapeutic, consultant and training and research work in a comprehensive community mental health program; and serve as a team leader within regional or program sub-units.

Physician-Family Practice/Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (F124S)

Current residents of an accredited Pediatric, Family Practice or Internal Medicine Residency Program may apply prior to graduating from the program. Several San Mateo Medical Center clinics are accredited as National Health Services Corps sites and benefit from scholarships and loan repayment programs through this network. Board Certification or eligibility and enrollment as a provider of Medi-Cal/Medicare are preferred.

Psychiatric Social Worker I/II and Marriage & Family Therapist I/II (G040, G035, G121, G120)

Psychiatric Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists: Under general supervision, provide specialized psychiatric casework counseling and therapy services to either children and adolescents or seriously mentally ill adults in community, correctional, or inpatient settings; provide individual and group therapeutic counseling and case management services to clients having basic and/or severe emotional, family, and/or social adjustment problems; supervise graduate interns.  

Social Worker I/II/III (G098/G097/G096)

Social Workers provide a wide variety of welfare services in such areas as information and referral, protective services for children and adults, out-of-home services, childcare services, health related services, family planning, homemaker, chore services, employment services, and other welfare services within the Departments of Human Services and Health Services.

Stationary Engineer II (Open and Promotional -T040AC)

Under the direction of a Supervising Stationary Engineer, Stationary Engineers are responsible for a  wide variety of repair and maintenance work in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, emergency power systems, water treatment systems, boiler  equipment, and piping repair, building automation  systems, and miscellaneous equipment repair. 

Stationary Engineer II is a journey level classification, and incumbents are expected to  have proficiency, perform independently, and solve  complex problems in all of the areas listed above.

Supervising Physician - San Mateo Medical Center (Open & Promotional) (F127X)

Adult, pediatric, podiatry and dental teams at Daly City Clinic work together to provide compassionate and complete care to this community. Onsite Behavioral health, social work and pharmacist support as well as strong RN presence create a team-based approach serving almost seven thousand patients.  The Supervising Physician works in concert with manager and nursing leadership to lead local quality improvement work and program development in addition to direct on-site clinical work and supervision of the provider team.
