SMC Serves is designed to incorporate volunteerism into our work culture and encourage employees to engage in causes and activities they are passionate about. In promoting volunteerism, employees can now apply 4 hours of volunteer service (performed in off duty status) towards their annual 20-hour training requirement each year.
SMC Serves was a winning idea presented at the County of San Mateo Employee Innovation Summit in 2016.
