How does BlessingWhite know who I am?
The County has supplied BlessingWhite with a list of all employees with their email addresses, employee identification number (employee id or Workday Contingent Worker Number (7-digit number containing one alpha character and six numbers)) and appropriate demographic information (as reported in Workday), such as immediate manager, department, division, etc.
Who has access to the raw data?
BlessingWhite (the third party vendor) will have access to the raw data. They will produce static reports for every level of the organization. A static report means that the information within the report is presented in an aggregate (grouped) format. The reports will not provide information on responses from individuals, and must contain at least six persons within a specific subset/group for a report to be generated.
What will the reports that managers/supervisors receive look like?
Managers/supervisors will receive static reports (in PDF format) for their team (if there are six or more responses), division, department, and the county. A static report means that the information within the report is presented in an aggregate or group format. The reports will not provide information on responses from individuals, and must contain at least six persons within a specific subset/group for a report to be generated.
What will managers/supervisors do with the reports?
Managers/supervisors will be encouraged review the reports, evaluate for appropriate actions which can be suggested/explore towards increasing engagement (Suggested actions are available in the BlessingWhite Resource Guide https://hr.smcgov.org/sites/hr.smcgov.org/files/GreatDay_Resource_Guide.pdf )
In addition, managers/supervisors will be encouraged to have Team Meetings centered on discussing the survey’s findings and identifying ways to increase the team’s engagement levels. They will also be provided with tools to help them have Engagement Conversations that explore team members’ engagement drivers.
Will my manager/supervisor be able to tell what my survey responses are?
Managers/supervisors will only be given data in an aggregate (group) format, provided there are six or more responses from the respective group. Managers/supervisors will not have the ability to play with the data to examine things like, how did employees in X position, from X location with X number of years of service answer this question. They will be able to see data presented in PDF Form. The reports present information on percent of respondents that Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree.
Why are six responses needed in order to generate an Engagement Report for my team?
BlessingWhite has established the number six as the cut off for creating reports for the survey data in part due to their engagement model, which has five levels. If BlessingWhite were to create reports below this threshold, it would be easy to identify which employees were categorized into which level of engagement and therefore breach anonymity. Furthermore, having a limit of six respondents allows BlessingWhite to report data for managers with smaller workgroups while still protecting the confidentiality of responses. BlessingWhite feels that six respondents is the ideal compromise between the ability to provide data all while protecting anonymity.
