The Workforce Engagement and Community Partnerships (WECP) Division strengthens the County of San Mateo’s workforce and community through three core areas, Talent Pipeline Programs, Retention Programs and Community Partnerships.
- Our Talent Pipeline Programs advance an inclusive recruitment and workforce development strategy by developing talent from our community through the Interns and Fellows programs, Jobs for Youth, Live in Peace Hoover Fellows, Regional Next Gen, and STEP programs.
- Retention Programs support County staff through Coaching, the Development Summit, Employee Engagement surveys, the Innovation Challenge, the Performance and Development Program, and STARS, promoting ongoing employee development and recognition across the County.
- Through our Community Partnerships, we collaborate with high schools, local community colleges, community-based organizations, cities, and districts throughout the county, as well as the Commission on the Status of Women and the LGBTQIA+ Commission, to strengthen access, opportunity, and outcomes for San Mateo County residents.
