How to get started:

  • Take self assessments. Learn more about your interests, values, skills and learning needs. Never rely on just one career assessment instrument; take several.
  • Explore possibilities. Discover the wide range of work available to you in the County. Set up informational interviews to learn more about the specifics of a particular job.
  • Network and make opportunities. Volunteer to sit on committees, look for Work Out of Class and Job Shadowing opportunities.
  • Get support. Talk with your supervisor, job coach, mentor or someone close to you about your career goals and make a plan.

There are lots of jobs but you only have one career!
