Ongoing fuel reduction projects focused on increasing the wildfire resiliency and improving safety to neighboring communities are underway in Quarry Park. This work requires occasional closures of trails near work areas. On the map below, see trails that may be intermittently closed through summer and fall of 2023.

Beginning in mid-September Mirada East Fire Road and the connector trail between The Crossways and Santiago Ave will be closed Monday through Friday while crews clear trees fallen or damaged during March 2023 storms. This work is expected to continue for 4 to 6 weeks. See trail closures indicated on the map below.

Fire fuel management may include a variety of methods, such as manual and mechanical removal, chemical control of plant growth, use of large equipment to haul and chip woody debris. For your safety, please watch for and heed signs around work areas.
