The Department of Housing is proud to fund organizations like Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. whose work helps older adults remain in their home with nourishing meals and neighborly check-ins.

One senior, John, benefited from Meals on Wheels for three years before he passed away. John’s daughter believes that he would not have been able to live out his last years in his own home without the support of Meals on Wheels.  “He felt as though he had a friend coming by to visit him regularly,” said John’s daughter. The consistent delivery of nutritious meals enabled John to maintain his independence and enjoy social connections and gave his daughter peace of mind during her father’s final years.
