On December 12, 2017, the Board of Supervisors adopted an update to the County’s Subdivision Regulations to incorporate changes made to the California Subdivision Map Act and to reflect pertinent case law. In addition, the update clarifies and streamlines the regulations and subdivision process, making them both more user-friendly. Subdivision applications not required to prepare a Master Land Development Plan must complete a Development Footprint Analysis before submitting a subdivision application. To learn more about permit requirements, visit the Major Subdivision Permit page and/or Minor Subdivision Permit page.

On October 8th, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved an update to the subdivision regulations. This update repealed Division VI and replaced it with Title 9 - Subdivision Regulations, all section numbers and chapters have been changed. No text amendments were made as part of this update.
