We offer two convenient methods for fee payment. You may choose from the following options.

PLEASE NOTE: We will never contact you by phone to demand payment. If you receive such a call, it may be an attempt at fraud. Please review our Fraud Warning page for more information.
Pay Online
  1. Go to our Online Portal page.
  2. Create an account or log in using an existing account.
  3. Click on Building or Planning and Code Compliance depending on what type of permit you are paying a fee for.
  4. Click the Record Number in the table under Records. If no record is listed in the table, do a General Search.

  5. Click the Payments down arrow.
  6. Click Fees.

  7. Under Outstanding, click Pay Fees next to the fee you want to pay.

  8. Verify the fee amount and click on Check Out.
  9. Click Checkout again.
  10. Select to Pay with Credit Card or Pay with Bank Account. A 3% service fee will be charged if paying with credit card.
  11. You will be redirected to our third-party payment system to continue. Click on Checkout.
  12. Fill in your billing information and click on Submit Payment. You will receive an email confirmation of payment.
Pay in Person or by Mail

Drop off a check during our listed hours or mail it to the address provided below. Please make the check payable to "The County of San Mateo Planning and Building" and be sure to include the record number in the memo line for accurate processing.
