Camp Pomponio Road & Tarwater Trailhead Close for Forest Health Project
Camp Pomponio Road and surrounding areas are closed due to forest health and fuel reduction work. This project is funded by CAL FIRE Forest Health Grant as part of part of California Climate Investments and is managed by San Mateo County Parks, San Mateo RCD and Auten Resources Consulting. The following trails and areas are be closed:
- Camp Pomponio Road from its entrance on the north side of the park to trail marker 72
- The Tarwater Trailhead and parking lot will remain closed, as well as the Tarwater Trail Camp.

Single-Track Hiking Trails Closed to Equestrians
Single-track hiking trails are closed to equestrians throughout the winter to prevent trail erosion. Trails will reopen once the wet season has subsided. The road portion of Shingle Mill Trail is also currently closed to equestrians.
