Following Phase 1 construction on the Realize Flood Park project, we will begin taking reservations for the newly updated group picnic areas on Monday, August 11. Reservations can be made for Friday, August 15 onward.
The new picnic areas accommodate groups between 40 to 200 people and include updated amenities, including adjustable-height barbecues, pull-down faucets, and electrical outlets with USB ports. Some larger sites feature a cozy breakout area with a circle of Adirondack chairs. Come enjoy the newly constructed volleyball, tennis/pickleball, and basket ball courts, available on a first come, first served basis, which are situated nearby, as well as the small multi-use playing field and bicycle pump track.
All of the original reservable picnic sites within the park will open for reservation on August 11 except the Manzanita Picnic Area, which is in the construction area for the up-and-coming Flood Park Playground, projected to open in summer 2026. Get a preview of the updated picnic sites by visiting the Flood Park reservable facilities pages on the San Mateo County Parks website.
