Intermittent Trail Closures on Ridge through Jan 1
On weekdays through Jan 1, weather permitting, workers will be at San Bruno Mountain treating scrub and invasive weed species such as gorse and broom. Treatment goals include the protection of sensitive grasslands and butterfly communities from competition by encroaching scrub and fast-spreading non-native species. Work will include up to 26 days of work, involving foliar or cut/stem applications of the herbicides triclopyr, aminopyralid, and/or imazapyr directly to the target plants. During the treatment, intermittent trail closures may take place on the following trails:
- Ridge Trail
- Any social trails in the Southeast Ridge area
- The trail up to the Ridge Trail from Buckeye Canyon
Please stay on trail and heed all closure signs.
