Intermittent Trail Closures on Saddle Trail and Ridge Connector Trail, Weekdays July 21–October 1

Treatment of gorse, coyotebrush, and other shrubs in San Bruno Mountain Park will occur between Monday, July 21 and Wednesday, October 1. The work is expected to take up to 12 days, as weather and the availability of work crews allow, and will occur on weekdays only. The following trails will be temporarily closed when work is taking place:
- Saddle Trail
- The connector trail on the southwest side of the mountain, between Mandalay Place at the Ridge Trail
Treatment goals include the protection of native grasslands and critical Mission blue and Callippe silverspot butterfly habitat from the encroachment of invasive plant species. This work will involve targeted foliar application of the herbicide triclopyr and triclopyr choline directly to foliage of the invasive plants. The trails will reopen once application process, including drying, is complete.
