This summer young artists transformed the exterior of a restroom at Coyote Point Recreation Area in San Mateo. How could something so mundane as a public restroom become a work of art? You’re invited to see for yourself and meet the artists at a ribbon cutting for the new mural at the park’s eastern promenade Saturday, Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m.
Muralists Simon Bai and Li Dongzhu led more than 40 kids in creating four distinct scenes that fit perfectly with Coyote Point’s name and setting. The summer session was led by CompassPoint Mentorship.
San Mateo County Parks Foundation, the non-profit partner of San Mateo County Parks, sponsored the effort and will host the ribbon cutting.
