Closed Trails Throughout Pescadero Creek Park
Equestrians and hikers visiting and staying at Sam McDonald Park this summer, please note that trails and trail camps throughout nearby Pescadero Creek Park are closed while crews conduct forest health and fuel reduction work. This project is funded by CAL FIRE Forest Health Grant as part of California Climate Investments and is managed by San Mateo County Parks, San Mateo RCD and Auten Resources Consulting. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work to improve the overall health of the forest and help ensure access in the future.
The closure has been partially lifted to increase visitor access through mid-July. The remaining closures are:
- Towne Fire Road between trail markers 34 & 52
- Bravo Fire Road between trail markers 35 & 56
- East Brook Trail between trail markers 34 & 52
- Canyon Trail between trail markers 37 & 50
- Shaw Flat Trail Camp
- The Tarwater Trailhead and parking lot will remain closed, as well as the Tarwater Trail Camp.
- Baker Fire Road closed between junctions 74 & 75 due to a bridge failure
