Veterans Commission to hold 6th Annual Veterans Recognition Event in fall

    Redwood City – The San Mateo County Veterans Commission is calling for nominations for its 6th annual Veterans Recognition Event that will take place in November 2021. Nominations will be accepted from now until the close of business on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

    There are three categories of honorees to be nominated:

    Veteran of the Year for a veteran who lives in San Mateo County and gone above and beyond the scope of their daily work in service to the community;

    Patriot of the Year for a non-veteran who lives in San Mateo County and works with veterans, veterans causes or organizations; and,

    Enterprise of the Year for a for-profit or not-for-profit enterprise that has significant operations in San Mateo County working with veterans or to improve the lives of veterans.

    Nominees selected by the Veterans Commission will be honored at the 6th Annual Veterans Recognition luncheon on Thursday, November 4, 2021 – details to follow.  Lt. Gen Michael A. Rocco, USMC (Ret), President and CEO of the Marines’ Memorial Club, will be the keynote speaker for this event.
