The County of San Mateo Department of Housing seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Management Analyst. 

Joining the team of highly committed, hard-working, and innovative public servants in the County of San Mateo Department of Housing (DOH), the Management Analyst will be responsible for assisting departmental leadership with projects related to affordable housing policy, development, and operations; homelessness; data analysis and reporting; and other related projects. 

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, a strong interest in housing policy and affordability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Examples Of Duties

  • Support Department executives on initiatives and projects of high importance to the Department regarding affordable housing and department operations, providing research and analysis, developing project plans, and acting as project manager ensuring project timelines and goals are met within budget constraints.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather data, assess needs, and develop solutions.

  • Conduct wide-ranging research on various initiatives regarding housing affordability and public agency operations to provide insight to senior executives.

  • Assess new and innovative affordable housing programs, funding opportunities, processes, and procedures.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations regarding departmental operations, including human resources, policies and procedures, technology, communications, and more.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of housing programs and department operations.

  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders.

  • Monitor project progress, lead problem-solving efforts, and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful completion.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, city planning, nonprofit management, real estate development, homeless systems, business administration, or a related field. 
  • At least three years of professional experience in a related field.
