  • Redwood City – What are your needs?

That was the basic question residents we invited you to answer at a series of listening sessions and in a survey that focused on four key areas: housing and homelessness, emergency preparedness, children and families and mental health.

The listening sessions concluded last week. The survey closed Monday at midnight.

    Now what?

The results will be presented to the public and the Board of Supervisors in a study session at its Oct. 3 regular meeting.

At the Oct. 17 Board meeting, the staff will then propose a plan for the following two months to collect proposals from community-based organizations, nonprofits and others to contract for work related to the Board’s identified priorities for Measure K half-cent sales tax dollars.

Those proposals will be evaluated by a team of program specialists in January and February to be presented to the Board for consideration in March. Once these are approved, contracts will be developed and programs will begin in July of 2024.
