Redwood City – The County of San Mateo continues to work to protect public health and safety in response to the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19.
The County of San Mateo’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains open to coordinate countywide response and communications in response to the situation. The EOC’s Joint Information Center will provide status reports every Tuesday and Thursday until further notice. Today’s report:
Updates on County’s COVID-19 Response Now Twice Per Week
Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30, the EOC news update will move to twice a week until further notice. Press releases will still be distributed as needed and residents should continue to check smcgov.org and the Joint Information Center for updates regarding news and a list of community resources.
Residential Eviction Moratorium Information On-line in Four Languages
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, June 23, extended an emergency countywide moratorium on evictions of residential tenants for failure to pay rent if they have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
If a tenant does not make a rent payment when it is due, and the landlord wishes to move forward with an eviction for failure to timely pay rent, the landlord must first send the tenant a copy of "Notice Re: San Mateo County Emergency Regulation 2020-001” available in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Tagalog at https://smcgov.org/housing
The regulation is effective through July 28.

San Mateo County Health has updated the number of positive cases to 3,141 as of June 28, 2020.
