Get ready for this summer’s blockbuster – the County is preparing to occupy the new Regional Operations Center, or the ROC.

Join us as we take a behind-the-scenes tour of what will be the San Mateo County’s new hub for disaster response and recovery. Now taking shape on the County Center campus, the ROC’s 37,000 square feet will be outfitted with the latest emergency communications equipment and will be the home for the County’s 9-1-1 Public Safety Dispatchers and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Area Office of Emergency Services.

In the event of a disaster or major emergency response, the ROC can sustain emergency workers 24 hours a day for up to a week with power, food and water.

The ROC is the largest single investment of your funds from Measure K, the voter-approved half-cent sales tax for local needs.
