DENNIS PANTANO

Dennis Pantano is one of Peninsula’s most distinguished residential realtors.

A lifelong resident of San Mateo County with more than 39 years of experience in real estate, Commissioner Pantano is among the three percent of licensed agents nationwide to hold the Certified Residential Specialist designation.

From 1999 through 2006 and 2008 through 2014, Commissioner Pantano served as Director of the California Association of Realtors. Additionally, during 2002 and 2003 he simultaneously served on the Board of the National Association of Realtors. From 1999 through 2005, Commissioner Pantano also served on the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County California Association of Realtors and was President-Elect in 2001, President in 2002, 2008 and currently holds that position. 

Commissioner Pantano was the Presiding Officer of the Association’s Professional Standards Committee in 1998, and in the same year he chaired the group’s Southern Legislative Committee and was Vice-Chair of the Association’s Realtors Political Action Committee. Owner of Pantano Properties, a firm he founded in 1996, Commissioner Pantano was previously associated with, since 1975, Pantano Realty. In 1996 the County Association of Realtors named him Realtor of the Year.

Educated at Serra High School and the Menlo School of Business Administration, Commissioner Pantano founded the “Books for Kids” program, an innovative program that provides $250 to the elementary school in the district that was sold by Pantano Properties. Since 1996 Commissioner Pantano has donated more than $45,000 to local elementary schools, funding the purchase of more than 3000 books. In addition to his philanthropic work, Commissioner Pantano holds the position of Board of Director/Vice President of Caminar, a non-profit for mental help serving San Mateo County for 50 years.

Commissioner Pantano and his wife Margaret live in Belmont. He was appointed to the Assessment Appeals Board on December 2014.
