  • On March 11, 2022, after 1 day of deliberations, a jury found Defendant Patrick Joseph Andorfer guilty of one  felony count of soliciting sex with a minor and one felony count of contacting a minor for a sexual offense.

    Between August 10, 2015 and December 30, 2015, 15-year-old Juvenile victim, a resident of Half Moon Bay,  received an unsolicited comment and direct message from 51-year-old Defendant, a stranger, with sexual overtones on her Facebook page.  Victim notified her parents, who then began posing as the Victim. as she received hundreds of unsolicited direct Facebook messages filled with sexual comments and soliciting sex acts. Victim’s parents then notified the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

    Detectives then began a sting operation, continuing the electronic communication with Defendant while pretending to be the Victim. Defendant stated he was aware the Victim was a juvenile and solicited sex with her regardless.  Detectives, while still posing as the victim, then set up a meeting with Defendant in a public parking lot where he was subsequently arrested.

    The Prosecutor was Dominque Davis and the Investigating Officer was Detective Gaby Chagouri of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
