PG&E confirmed this morning it will proactively turn off power to 1,005 addresses in San Mateo County beginning at 1 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 due to high winds and fire danger unless there is an unexpected changed in the weather forecast.
As of Wednesday morning, the 1,005 impacted addresses include 23 medical baseline customers and involve portions of Woodside, La Honda and surrounding unincorporated San Mateo County. The Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) maps provided by PG&E show general areas of the county but residents can find out if their address will be impacted by visiting https://psps.ss.pge.com
PG&E said re-energization of the power lines will begin at noon, Thursday, Oct. 24 and assured the County that due to the smaller number of affected customers, power should not take long to resume.
On its statewide call today, PG&E also cautioned that meteorologists are tracking weather conditions and a possible second event may occur over the weekend.
Prior to the PSPS, the County encourages residents to sign up for up-to-date alerts through PG&E ( https://psps.ss.pge.com) and SMC Alert (smcalert.info).
