In "Inky Waters," I invite you to immerse yourself in an artistic exploration of the enchanting world that lies beneath the ocean's surface. Through the medium of linocut printmaking, I bring to life a diverse cast of marine creatures, from the familiar to the fantastical.

The title "Inky Waters" carries a playful double meaning that adds depth to the concept behind this body of work. On one hand, it alludes to the ink used in printmaking, symbolizing the very medium through which these artworks are created. Just as the creatures of the sea leave their mark in the form of ink, I too leave my mark on the paper, bringing these captivating beings to life through intricate linocut designs.

On the other hand, "Inky Waters" suggests the mysterious and evocative nature of the ocean depths. It hints at the darkness and richness of the underwater world, where shadows dance, and the ink-like depths hold countless secrets and wonders. It is within these inky waters that my imagination thrives, where I draw inspiration to craft images that bridge the gap between reality and fantasy.

In 'Inky Waters,' I celebrate the captivating world beneath the ocean's surface through linocut printmaking. Influenced by childhood dreams of being a mermaid, the enchantment of aquariums, and the beauty of children's book illustrations and Japanese printmaking, my artwork captures the joy and wonder inspired by living on the coast.
