Update: November 25, 2022
November 25, 2022 at 9:39pm
  • The leak detection service successfully located a significant leak in the CSA 7 pipe near the Trailer Park in the afternoon of 11/24/2022. The leak was repaired, and water restored shortly thereafter.  The pressure in the CSA 7 system serving the Trailer Park and the Memory Lane neighborhood has returned to previous levels.
  • Note - When there is a water shutdown, the sediment that naturally occurs in the water piping system is disturbed. You may notice discoloration or sediment when the water service resumes.  Running your tap should clear the water of sediment.  It is also suggested that you check your water before doing laundry because the discolored water may stain your clothes.
  • Please be advised that the Boil Water Notice is still in effect until it is canceled.
  • CSA 7 is working with a contractor to install a bypass water line for a portion of the CSA 7 water pipe including the area where the leak was found. This work began on 11/24/2022 and expected to be completed by 11/28/2022.  Connections of the temporary line to the CSA 7 pipes will be made as soon as 11/28/2022, which will require shutting off the water to the Trailer Park and Memory Lane.  A Water Shutoff Notice for 11/28/2022 has been provided to the Trailer Park/Memory Lane areas.  This bypass water line may be used in the future if the system experiences a similar situation.
  • Water sampling to lift the Boil Water Notice will be conducted after the connections to the bypass line have been made. We anticipate the cancellation of the Boil Water Notice for the Trailer Park and Memory Lane areas to be issued at the end of next week at the earliest.
  • Additional bottled water was delivered to the Trailer Park for CSA 7 Trailer Park and Memory Lane customers on 11/24/2022.  The water is located next to the building on the left past the Trailer Park entrance.
  • With the CSA 7 water restored, the 4,000-gallon tanker truck has been removed from the Trailer Park.
  • The County’s Department of Emergency Management is working to have the portable restrooms and showers at the trailer park removed in the next few days.
  • During the community meeting on Wednesday (11/23/2022), we heard that some residents were concerned with recycling the empty plastic bottles generated from the potable water deliveries that have been made. DEM is working to better understand the need and determine what the process would look like for this. Details for plastic water bottle recycling will be shared as they are determined.
If you are experiencing/noticing:
  • Significant change in your water conditions
  • Supplemental water resources are running low (i.e., water truck, bottled water supplies)
  • Any service issues with the provided portable showers and/or toilets

Please call 650-368-1421 and ask for the Department of Emergency Management Duty Officer.
