October 28, 2026
  • REDWOOD CITY, Calif.  -

The San Mateo County Veterans Commission and Supervisor Lisa Gauthier invite veterans, their families and community advocates to attend the 11th Annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon on Monday, November 9. The event will celebrate the individuals and organizations whose service and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of veterans.

The free event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the San Mateo Elks Lodge #1112, located at 229 W 20th Ave, San Mateo, CA 94403. Veterans, their families, and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

“Our veterans have given so much to our nation, and we have a responsibility to ensure they and their families know that their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” said Supervisor Gauthier. “I’m proud to honor the veterans and the dedicated people and organizations who stand beside them. Their commitment to others inspires me, and I’m grateful for all they do to make San Mateo County a better place.”

The annual luncheon will recognize three honorees for their outstanding contributions:

    • Veteran of the Year: Recognizes a veteran whose exceptional service, leadership and dedication have made a meaningful impact on the San Mateo County community.
    • Patriot of the Year: Honors a non-veteran whose commitment and contributions have positively affected the lives of veterans and their families.
    • Enterprise of the Year: Recognizes a business or organization for its exceptional service, generosity and commitment to supporting the community.

The luncheon is an opportunity to recognize those who go above and beyond, and to strengthen the partnerships between veterans, residents, and local organizations. Admission to the event is free. Community members are encouraged to attend and join the County in honoring those whose service and dedication embody the spirit of giving back.
