Corie is a Nicaragüense born and raised in California, who has a BA in Psychology and MA in Migration Studies, both from the University of San Francisco. During her studies she spent 3 years working with Central and South American asylum seekers along the U.S.-Mexico border as a translator, advocate, and connection to social services. She is passionate about giving Know Your Rights presentations and using art to encourage joyful and inclusive community spaces. Prior to joining the County, she worked as a data analyst, researcher, and sign painter. She still paints in her spare time.
