Caline Salame (she/her) is the Equity and Belonging Associate in the Office of Racial and Social Equity. Caline holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Communications, and she brings both personal experience and professional focus to her equity work. A San Mateo County native, she was promoted internally from the Department of Emergency Management, where she served as the Core Equity Team Departmental Liaison. In that role, she helped ensure that equity principles were embedded in emergency planning and response—prioritizing community needs and inclusive practices at every stage. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, reading, spending time with her husband, and chasing after her two cats.
