  • San Bruno – San Mateo County Supervisor Jackie Speier will host her first town hall of 2025 on Thursday, March 13, in San Bruno.

“You can ask me about any topic on your mind,” said Speier, a former member of Congress who was sworn in as District 1 supervisor in January. “To understand your thoughts and concerns, I want to hear from you directly.”

The town hall will take place at 6 p.m. at San Bruno’s new Recreation and Aquatic Center, 251 City Park Way.

The event includes brief presentations on two pressing issues: wildfire safety and immigration rights.

“I am very concerned about the uncertainty regarding ICE raids in our communities,” Speier said. “The San Mateo County Office of Community Affairs will talk about the rights you have to protect yourself and loved ones.”

The County’s Department of Emergency Management will provide tips on how to protect your family and your home.

“The recent wildfires in Southern California were a tragic and urgent reminder that no one is immune to the dangers of natural disasters,” Speier said. “We have areas in our county with similar topography to Pacific Palisades.”

Speier will also alert attendees to an upcoming county event on April 26, “Be Wildfire Safe & Ready,” that will provide in-depth information on how to prepare an evacuation plan for the entire family in the event of a wildfire. It will also showcase resources available to all residents with presentations by first responders and emergency managers.
