Today, Sheriff Christina Corpus’s legal team released a report by Burke Strunsky purporting to evaluate the report by Judge LaDoris H. Cordell.
It is alarming that the Strunsky report, commissioned by Sheriff Corpus, suggests she is exempt from following her own policies and immune from oversight.
The report prepared by Judge Cordell, a highly experienced, well-regarded, and independent retired judge, raises serious concerns about the conduct of the Sheriff and her leadership of the Sheriff’s Office. Recognizing that Judge Cordell’s “investigation has undeniable value,” the Strunksy report concludes that, before deciding whether to remove the Sheriff, the Board of Supervisors should develop a process that affords the Sheriff the opportunity to make her case in full view of the public.
The Board is doing exactly that and has already shared a draft of the removal process with the public, consistent with its steadfast commitment to fairness and transparency.

Hoy, el equipo legal de la Alguacil Christina Corpus publicó un reporte de Burke Strunsky que pretende evaluar el reporte de la Juez LaDoris H. Cordell.
Es alarmante que el reporte Strunsky, comisionado por la Sheriff Corpus, sugiera que ella está exempta de seguir sus reglas e inmune a la supervisión. El informe preparado por la jueza Cordell, una jueza jubilada de gran experiencia, bien considerada e independiente, plantea serias preocupaciones sobre la conducta de la Alguacil y su liderazgo en la oficina de la Alguacil. Reconociendo que la «investigación de la juez Cordell tiene un valor indudable», el reporte Strunksy concluye que, antes de decidir si destituye a la alguacil, la Junta de Supervisores debe desarrollar un proceso que brinde a la alguacil la oportunidad de exponer su caso a la vista del público. La Junta está haciendo exactamente eso y ya ha compartido con el público un boceto del proceso de destitución, en consonancia con su firme compromiso a la equidad y la transparencia.
