  • County officials on Tuesday hosted a reception to say thank you to the residents who serve on advisory boards and commissions.

    Aileen Cassinetto, a member of the Commission on the Status of Women and a former County Poet Laureate, recites a poem as part of the festivities.

    From A to Y (the Agricultural Advisory Committee to the Youth Commission), more than 300 residents serve their community through boards and commissions.

    The evening event, held in the County's Regional Operations Center on the County Center campus, was hosted by Supervisor David J. Canepa and County Executive Mike Callagy.

    A musician from Casa Circulo Cultural, a nonprofit based in North Fair Oaks, entertains the crowd.
