Supervisors voted 5-0 to declare June 2023 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Two Spirit + (also known as LGBTQQIA2S+) Month.

The resolution states that “the Progress Pride Flag is a symbol of support for the LGBTQQIA2S+ community and the diversity within that community, and flying the flag at the seat of government demonstrates that San Mateo County is a welcoming, inclusive county and a safe space to explore gender expression….”
