The Project Development Unit is providing management assistance to the all-volunteer La Honda Fire Brigade to upgrade and expand the existing Fire Station #57 at 8945 La Honda Rd. The County has supplemented Brigade funding with $500,000 in capital funds to extend a fire water line from Cuesta La Honda Guild, add fire sprinklers to the station building, and upgrade the existing facilities in the station. Water Line extension work is substantially complete. The Brigade has engaged an Architectural firm to begin the design process for adding fire sprinklers to the existing station building and for adding a potential 2nd floor mezzanine above the existing staff area.
