These resources have been created by legal service organizations to provide helpful general information to immigrant communities.
Red Cards and Know Your Rights Toolkit
Red Cards from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. All people in the United States, regardless of immigration status, have certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. Red Cards help people assert their rights and defend themselves in many situations, such as when ICE agents go to a home. These are available in multiple languages. One side of the card is printed in the language of the resident, and the other side is printed in English to be presented to the immigration official. Download and print cards here:
- English Cards
- Chinese Cards (简体中文)
- Spanish Cards (español)
- Tagalog Cards
The toolkit includes red cards, multilingual Know Your Rights handouts, and more.

Immigration Preparedness Toolkit
The ILRC’s Immigration Preparedness Toolkit is a resource-packed informational document designed to help immigrants with no legal status or in mixed status families begin to understand the immigration legal landscape and plan for their own journey through an ever-changing, complex system in the United States. This is available in English and Spanish (disponible en inglés y español).
Immigration Preparedness Toolkit
Family Preparedness Plan
In addition to the Immigration Preparedness Toolkit, which is for anyone with immigration concerns, the Family Preparedness Plan is specifically for individuals and families with children or other dependents in their care.
This resource helps families put a plan in place in case of an immigration-related emergency. Though we hope you never need to use this plan, we want to ensure all community members are prepared with a plan in place. It includes guidance for completing a Caregiver's Authorization Affidavit, to ensure that if you are ever unable to care for your child, you will have a plan in place for their care. This plan is available in English and Spanish (disponible en inglés y español).
