To promote and showcase local artists, the Office of Arts and Culture oversees three galleries at County Center, two exhibiting visual arts and one with 3-D works of art. The County Curator seeks out and selects local artists reflecting a wide range of media, styles, and subject matter. Exhibits represent diverse and underrepresented art forms from artists with varied experience from emerging to established. To ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion, calls for artists and outreach include BIPOC artists and underserved communities. Past shows have included women artists featured in annual Women’s History Month Show, and high school artists from Youth Leadership Institute: Coastside Youth Speak Out – Shedding Light on Substance Abuse.

The County has hosted art exhibits for over ten years providing access to all. Over 13,000 visitors view the exhibits annually. Artworks are available for sale and in 2019 eight sold, supporting our artists. The galleries are open to the public, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for holidays.
