About the Committee
San Mateo County Charter section 801 provides that the Board of Supervisors shall convene a Charter review committee within eight years of the last complete Charter review and that said committee shall review the Charter and make appropriate recommendations for amendment or revision to the Board. In its review of the Charter, the Committee should consider any changes to the County Charter as authorized by the Constitution and State Law, which in its opinion are appropriate.
Membership
There are currently nineteen (19) committee members appointed to represent a wide range of community interests and sectors. These commissioners were sworn in at the first meeting, on January 26th, 2026.
