  • General Accounting

    • The General Accounting Division helps manage Countywide fiscal processes of our customers, the taxpayers of San Mateo County and County Departments.

  • Controller Information Systems

    • The Controller Information Systems Division assures that accurate and timely information is available to all users of the County's Integrated Financial and Administrative Solution (IFAS) software by providing customer support through training, upgrades to applications, process improvements, Help Desk assistance, and managerial support.

  • Internal Audit

    • The Internal Audit Division conducts independent audits, evaluations, and analyses to assist County management to improve efficiency and effectiveness of programs and functions, and safeguard County assets and meet reporting requirements.

  • Payroll

    • The Payroll Division provides timely and accurate preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll for County departments and special districts to ensure that employees are paid correctly and Federal and State reporting requirements are met.

  • Property Tax

    • The Property Tax and Special Accounting division manages the key aspects of the property tax process which require that 1) the property taxes payable by each taxpayer are accurately calculated, 2) property taxes collected are accurately distributed to taxing agencies, and 3) any overpayment of taxes is refunded in a timely manner.
