Krzysztof Lisaj was promoted to Assistant Director of Public Works in 2026 and brings over a decade of experience with the County of San Mateo Department of Public Works. Since joining the County in 2010 as an intern, he has advanced through the roles of Associate, Senior, Principal Civil Engineer, and Deputy Director within the Department.

In his current role, Krzysztof provides executive oversight of the Department’s engineering and infrastructure programs, including project development, design and construction, transportation, flood control, utilities, and environmental services. He works closely with County leadership, partner agencies, and the community to deliver complex infrastructure projects and advance initiatives that improve safety, resiliency, and quality of life across the County.

Krzysztof holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from San José State University. A resident of San Mateo County, he lives in San Mateo with his wife and two children.
