The construction work will involve pavement repairs, crack sealing, and applying a cape or slurry seal over the existing roadway.
A cape seal is a chip seal - an application of asphaltic emulsion (road oil) immediately followed by an application of chips to the roadway surface - followed by an application of a slurry seal (a mixture of asphaltic emulsion and sand sized aggregate) approximately one week later. A few days after the cape or slurry seal is placed, pavement striping and marking will be placed back on the roadway.
