What does it mean for my child to be on Intensive Supervision?

If your child is on Intensive Supervision, it is likely that the crime they committed was very serious, we have information that they are involved in gangs, or they have some other propensity for violence.

The Probation Department’s priority is to keep the community safe while working to keep your child out of custody. Therefore, Deputy Probation Officers will be checking on your child often. They will be contacting your child at school to make sure s/he is attending and behaving while on campus. Deputy Probation Officers will also be coming to your home to make sure that conditions of probation are being followed. This will most likely include a search of your child’s room and any other areas of your home that your child has access to.
