The Board of Supervisors will hear a presentation from John Keene, Chief Probation Officer, and Iliana Rodriguez, Director of the Human Services Agency about San Mateo County’s Foster Care population and services that are provided to these youth from both agencies. A panel of our community's non-profits organizations, who provide services specifically to improve educational and job readiness, will also present program outcomes.
Additionally, two former foster youth will discuss challenges they faced while in the system. This study board will allow the Board of Supervisors to gain a better understanding of the important work provided by all agencies involved with our foster youth; more importantly, to determine if there are areas that require additional support.
