The County of San Mateo’s Human Services Agency (HSA) seeks volunteers to implement the One Day Homeless Count on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5 AM to 10 AM. Trained volunteers will be deployed across the County to conduct an observational count of individuals who are unsheltered. Volunteers will navigate every street within their assigned census tract and record their findings using a mobile application.

The San Mateo County Department of Housing has successfully competed for an award of $5 million to implement the State’s Local Housing Trust Fund (LHTF) program. The LHTF program provides matching funds to local and regional housing trust funds dedicated to the creation, rehabilitation, or preservation of affordable housing, transitional housing and emergency shelters.
