People v. Victoria Soledad Garcia
On September 22, 2021, a jury convicted Defendant Victoria Soledad Garcia of second-degree murder and felony dissuading a witness. The jury also found the special allegation of the use of a deadly weapon to be true.
On the afternoon of October 7, 2019, Victim Christian Alderete was sleeping in his home at the Treasure Island Mobile Home Park in South San Francisco. His girlfriend, Defendant Garcia, arrived at the home after learning the Victim had dated another woman. Defendant Garcia began attacking the Victim in their bedroom, and ultimately walked to the kitchen and retrieved a large knife. Defendant Garcia returned to the bedroom and stabbed Christian Alderete once in the upper-chest/shoulder area. Christian Alderete succumbed to his injuries and died within a few minutes of the stabbing.
The prosecutor was Ryan McLaughlin and the Investigating Officer was Corporal Dan Brown of the South San Francisco Police Department.
