  • On April 27, 2022, after less than 2 hours of deliberations, a jury convicted Defendant Atonio Finauhuia William Finau of five felony counts including robbery, commercial burglary and recklessly evading a police officer.

    On September 15, 2021,  Defendant was one of five participants (all of whom have been apprehended) in a “flash mob” robbery at the Infinity Jewelers in the Serramonte Shopping Center in Daly City. Defendant, along with other suspects, charged into the store, smashing glass display cases with hammers and other tools and fled with $120,000 in merchandise. Defendant fled in a vehicle which led police officers on a chase at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour before ending in a collision when resulted in minor injuries to two of the occupants.  Defendant attempted to flee on foot after the crash but was caught by police and $118,000 worth of jewelry was recovered. The robbery was also captured on surveillance video

    The Prosecutor was Brian Donnellan and the Investigating Officer was Detective Chris Collins (Daly City Police Department.)
