Project Overview
The existing base Tower Road site is located to the west of the intersection of freeway Route 92 and Polhemus Road/Ralston Ave. The site is approximately 9.5 acres in size, with access via three separate driveway connections to Tower Road. The site contains seven existing buildings/structures, the largest being the Election/Library Record Storage Building. Additionally there are multiple paved surface parking lots surrounding said buildings and existing exterior vehicle storage/maintenance facilities.
The intent of this effort- titled SM County Tower Road Site Feasibility I Programming Study- is to initially assess, predominately from an architectural and planning perspective, the existing Tower Road site and the facilities/buildings located on the site. The goal is to reprogram functionality of facilities/buildings/ site for best use by select departments of San Mateo County. This is to be a high level study to determine base initial program fit, and provide related notes on possible upgrades/retrofits/new construction to accommodate new program elements at the Tower Road site.
