Construction of the Flood Park Pump Track has Begun

Following partial demolition of the tennis courts, contractors broke ground for Flood’s pump track. Construction is expected to continue until early October.

Tunitas Creek Beach Construction Begins

Construction of Tunitas Creek Beach has begun, with the park scheduled to open in Spring/Summer 2024. The property will be closed for construction until the park opening and is not accessible to the public.

Phase 1 Construction of Flood Park Landscape Plan on the Horizon

Nominations Now Being Accepted for Hammerman Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 Barbara Hammerman Award, an annual recognition sponsored by the San Mateo County Domestic Violence Council. In 2005, the Domestic Violence Council established the Hammerman Award, ratified by the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County, for the purpose of recognizing outstanding law enforcement officers for their contribution and service to survivors of domestic violence and their children. In 2009 the award was expanded to include professionals who provide services to victims of domestic violence.

In celebration of the San Mateo County Park Foundation’s 25th anniversary and San Mateo County Parks’ centennial, the Parks Foundation is seeking three artists to design a poster for Memorial Park, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, and Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve.

Board of Supervisors Approves Tunitas Creek Beach Construction Contract

On June 13, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved a $11,593,710 contract to construct parking, pathways, rest rooms, picnic tables, and more visitor services at Tunitas Creek Beach.
