The 121-bed Cordilleras mental health campus will replace a drab concrete facility that opened during the Truman Administration as a tuberculosis ward and transitioned to a mental health treatment center more than four decades ago.

Redwood City — On a vacant lot next to the bay, local civic leaders and champions for people without housing today celebrated the groundbreaking of what will become the County of San Mateo’s first Navigation Center. The Navigation Center will provide 240 safe temporary living spaces for individuals and couples along with intensive support services. These services will be designed to help clients find and maintain stable housing.

For Immediate Release REDWOOD CITY – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors today passed a Proclamation declaring November 19, 2021, Transgender Day of Remembrance in the County. This Board action will be accompanied by raising and flying the Transgender flag at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City and hosting a virtual remembrance ceremony.
