Burlingame – Homeless veterans will soon have a place to call home. The muddy site of a shuttered carwash will ultimately provide 18 apartments for veterans experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk of homelessness, along with 50 apartments for individuals and families with low incomes.
Redwood City – Calling 911 for a medical emergency may soon dispatch a four-wheel-drive ambulance, with capabilities for improved access and increased safety. San Mateo County’s emergency ambulance services provider, American Medical Response (AMR), is adding three new 4x4 vehicles to its fleet, with the first to be based in Half Moon Bay to serve the Coastside region.

A loan of $5,698,107 from San Mateo County’s Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) and an award of 30 Project-Based Vouchers from the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo helped to pave the way for construction to start in late December 2023 on Eucalyptus Grove Apartments in Burlingame.
