San Mateo County Supervisor Warren Slocum Appointed To Association Of Bay Area Government’s (ABAG) New Strategy Committee On Regional Economic Development Districts

San Mateo County Supervisor Warren Slocum has been appointed to the Association of Bay Area Government’s (ABAG) new Strategy Committee. The work of this Committee will guide the development of a regional Economic Development District (EDD) for the nine-county Bay Area and support regional economic prosperity.

RFQ: Educational and Vocational Services for the Bridges Program

This RFQ seeks responses from any and all qualified agencies or individuals to provide educational and vocational services for the San Mateo County Probation Department’s Bridges Program. The targeted commencement date and term for the proposed services is January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, subject to negotiation and final agreement.

I was so honored to be selected by Assembly Speaker pro Tem Kevin Mullin as the Veteran of the Year for 2016 from District 22! There are many deserving veterans in our County and I was humbled to be this year's honoree.

It was a pleasure to join the MidPeninsula Regional Open Space District for their annual Legislative Picnic on the patio of the recently opened Cooley Landing Facility at the Ravenswood Open Space Preserve in East Palo Alto. It's such a beautiful place!

San Mateo County Board of Supervisors Appoint Carlos Bolanos Acting Sheriff

On July 12, 2016, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors appointed Carlos Bolanos Acting Sheriff of San Mateo County to finish out the two years remaining in the term of former Sheriff Greg Munks who stepped down for health reasons. The Board of Supervisors is grateful to have seasoned leadership in the ranks of our law enforcement and the department is fortunate to have a team of professionals that have worked closely together for several years. The County and its cities are in good hands.

Dad and Me @ the Park

On June 18th the Probation Department participated in the 14th Annual Dad and Me @ the Park Festival. This event, sponsored by the County’s Fatherhood Collaborative, was a fun, free, outdoor educational and resource fair that hoped to engage hundreds of children, fathers and families from all throughout San Mateo County.

Supervisor Warren Slocum, District 4, And American Medical Response Launch “Save A Life” Scholarship Program

San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President Warren Slocum in partnership with the American Medical Response (AMR) will be launching the “Save A Life” Scholarship Program at the 5th Annual OYE Latino Youth Conference on May 21, 2016, at Canada College. The program will offer two full-ride scholarships to attend the College of San Mateo’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Training Program and provide a mentor to help complete the EMT Program.
