Redwood City — The County of San Mateo today announced an ambitious goal: End homelessness by the end of the year.
Redwood City — On a vacant lot next to the bay, local civic leaders and champions for people without housing today celebrated the groundbreaking of what will become the County of San Mateo’s first Navigation Center. The Navigation Center will provide 240 safe temporary living spaces for individuals and couples along with intensive support services. These services will be designed to help clients find and maintain stable housing.
Members of the public have the opportunity to make history by serving on California’s first county or city commission focused on the needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community. As of today, applications are being accepted for the newly established San Mateo County Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBT) Commission.
Redwood City – The San Mateo County Supervisorial District Lines Advisory Commission will hold the first in a series of meetings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021. This first meeting launches a months-long public process to hear from the community about district boundaries for electing the Board of Supervisors for the next decade. Redwood City – Today, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of an ordinance to regulate the sale of firearms in the unincorporated areas of the county. The ordinance was sponsored by Supervisors Dave Pine and Don Horsley.
Today, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors authorized County Health to establish a permit fee relief program that would provide a one-time credit covering the costs of annual permit fees paid by certain local businesses regulated by the department.
